Levittown Soccer Club members kicked off the new season with our annual Opening Day parade on September 10, 2017.  Hundreds of people were in attendance to cheer on the newly formed Intramural and Snoopy teams who marched with banners in hand at MacArthur High School.  Travel teams also saw action as the first games of the Fall 2017 season were played at Pelini Park, Wisdom Lane and Division Ave.  The festivities began with a greeting from acting President Jim SanFilipppo and a wonderful rendition of our national anthem sung by LSC alumni Courtney Schmaeling.  After receiving words of encouragement from Father Ralph Sommer, State Senator Kemp Hannon, Councilman Dennis Dunn, former Assemblyman Steve Labriola and Levittown Island Trees Youth Council President Mike Nelson players took the fields for their first games of the year.

The annual event was coordinated by club volunteers who gave countless hours of their time to organize uniforms, schedules and concessions.  District Athletic Director Keith Snyder and Superintendent Tonie MacDonald were also on hand to show support.  “I’m very happy to see everyone out on the field again.  It is a perfect day for soccer and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season” said Jordan Hirsch, LSC Intramural Director.  Snoopy Director John Harrington added, “It’s so enjoyable to see the new boys and girls starting in the program as well as all those returning that continue to play and love the game.”

The fall 2017 season will continue in to November with weekly matches for all programs.  Thank you to all our volunteers and good luck to all our players for a successful season.
