The Soccer Stars Program was started in 2000 and is designed to accommodate children who are not able to participate in mainstream soccer activity. The program brings the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, age five and older, that could benefit from additional attention due to mental, physical, or developmental disabilities. Soccer Stars affords all children the opportunity to learn the game of soccer, to interact with other children, make new friends, and to enjoy the spirit of competition.
As a volunteer “Buddy” you will be paired with an athlete at each session and will work 1 on 1 with them to help them participate to the best of their abilities. Being a Soccer Stars Buddy will be the most fun you will ever have on the soccer field. You will help the athletes learn the game of soccer, build relationships with teammates, and have a great time!
The Soccer Stars program meets on Sunday morning in the Fall and Spring seasons. The program director will contact you via email with scheduling information as the season start date approaches. We thank you for being a volunteer and would be happy to provide you with a letter of community service for school or any community or religious organization. If you have any questions about being a Buddy please email Katlin SanFilippo at [email protected]
